At the age of 73 I am rather more mature than most here at Plymouth, but have been made to feel welcome and an important part of the student community. The quality of the teaching has been exceptional along with the academic support available to help me.

The in-class lectures and seminars are well structured, I know I can have 1 to 1 contact with the lecturers when discussing assessment feedback. Getting to grips with modules using information technologies as part of an assessment is a concern for me.

The majority of the campus is based in the city centre. Plymouth now has a designated marine park and close links to Dartmoor.

As an over-70-year-old first-time undergraduate, my time here has been amazing; all the staff, whether academic or support, have been approachable and engaging. In spite of having around 40 years extra on the next oldest student in my course cohort, it has never stopped me from engaging in group work with them. Information technology can be an issue for me at times , but I do know where to find support, I feel getting to grips with the technology would be easier with a dedicated mentor able to instruct at a pace that I can cope with.

Because I am enrolled on a course that excites me I do not have any issues with the teaching aspects. At present the course content is taught in class. The lecturers are always available to contact both online and in person.

The university has a mainly city centre campus , convenient for shopping and nightlife
