The three things that make the University of Leeds a great place to study are: 1) The availability of opportunities to explore the great outdoors (that's really important for me) 2) The supportiveness of the faculty 3) All learning resources can be accessed online! What can be improved? 1) I like learning on my own, so really long lectures are not for me. It would be nice if we were just assigned a reading, and then we can discuss it in class

I love it how the administration is always on top of things. A few weeks ago, a pipe burst in Carlton Hill, and we had no water for a while. I thought the problem would last for a couple of days. They were able to fix it in a few hours.

University of Leeds is a great place to study due to its close proximity to Leeds city centre, which is only a 10-15 minute walk away, or a 5-minute bus ride away! Leeds is definitely a lively student city with various things to do. The union has over 300 societies, and you can also make your own society if you wish. The medical course is taught very well, with it’s I reheated structure; the unique thing about studying medicine in Leeds is that you get the opportunity to start clinical placements and get patient contact from the very first year. The library facilities in Leeds are amazing, with different types of libraries for different types of learners. For example, there are modern and traditional libraries which vary in terms of loud or silent studies. Although the booking process for library rooms is quite competitive!

The course is thought in an integrative way which means we get a mix of lectures, seminars, labs and clinical placements from first year. This means that you can gain confidence in patient contact from the first year. Also, the anatomy labs are very useful in learning anatomy from an early stage. In first and second year, these are more lecture heavy, from 3rd year it is more clinical.
