Hi, I am Quazi Shahin Ashraf. I was born in Bangladesh. I am pursuing an MSc in Aerospace Engineering with Extended Professional Practice at the University of Hertfordshire. I enrolled here in September 2025. According to the National Student Survey 2025 University of Hertfordshire is the top 25 % of all UK universities overall student positivity. Herts emphasizes career relevant learning. Many courses offer placement year or sandwich year including my MSc Aerospace Engineering with Extended Professional Practice, giving students industrial experience. A big strength is its post graduate taught experience. Specifically students said the University prepared them well for the future careers. University of Hertfordshire ranked 2nd in the UK for skills development according to Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES). The University offers modern, well equipped facilities, from collaborative teaching spaces to sports village, gym and more. According to its strategic report Herts is the top 25 % of all UK universities for research impact (REF 2021)

One of the best aspect is the Extended Professional Practice. I will get the One year work placement in industry. The course is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and Institution of Mechanical Engineering (IMech) required the further learning requirement for Chatered Engineering registration.
