The university is a new and up-and-coming university, however the area (Luton) has a bad reputation which can put people off and think that the university isnt as good as it actually is. It focuses on employability and improving the student experience, as well as offering accredited university degrees, which is perfect to me!
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
excellent. have everything that is needed!
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
very good. not needed it too much myself but has been useful and quick-acting on those i know who have needed to use it. they make their prescence known which is reassuring
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
Very involved and supportive of societies and students as individuals. constantly trying to make the university a better place socially. I feel they could achieve this a bit more if they had more funding. however one negative decision they made was to buy out a local pub which was popular and turn it into a venue that only runs a couple of nights a week, when previously it was a pub-restaurant open all day and most of the night.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
(Luton campus). good. People come here and expect it to be a mini-London for some reason and this causes disapointment, so we do hear people complaining quite a bit. however, the town has everything - small and large shops, cinema, restaurants, takeaways, clubs, pubs, theatres and parks all within walking distance. The only things open at very late night are corner-shops, takeaways and clubs but this isnt really an issue - everything is nearby and so even travelling at night taxis are pretty cheap and there are a lot of trusted taxi services.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
plenty to choose from and always new one popping up. careers and volunteering staff are very helpful if you want to set up your own society too
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
My course is very good and have very enthusiastic and supportive lecturers - however, some lecturers do let this down slightly or beat around the bush when asked questions.
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
Very good, careers service is brilliant and extremely supportive and patient. Cannot give a 5 star yet as I have not left the university yet!
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
accomodation is nearby and provides facilities needed, as well as running some events for the accomodation. however, they are so expensive! however i feel that the pricing is not much different from any other universitys

Although it is not one of the most glamorous universities, what the University of Bedfordshire lacks in looks it more than makes up for in support and teaching quality.
Facilities
How good are your university's facilities?
An excellent library with brilliant and helpful staff who are all experts in their subject and willing to guide you. There are also very well equipped simulation labs which have enhanced my learning experience.
Student support
How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).
The support I have received from my tutors has been overwhelming. There is also a developing PAL system throughout the university.
Students' union
What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?
I have not been involved with the SU and do feel this is one area that the UoB could improve. I feel loyal to my course rather than my SU.
Local life
Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?
Luton is a bit of a dive but is surrounded by nicer areas. I don't go clubbing so I wouldn't be a fair judge.
Societies and Sports
How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?
Having not been involved with any of these I can't say.
Lecturers and teaching quality
What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?
The course content is rigorous and is taught by passionate and knowledgeable lecturers.
Career prospects
How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?
My course has excellent links with my placement area and I am confident that with a midwifery degree from the University of Bedfordshire I will be able to get a job in the sort after industry.
University halls
What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
Whilst the new student accommodation is very nice there are some old sites which are not. It is run by an independent company so my problem is with them not the university.
