The campus is compact with a short distance to walk between buildings and accommodation. Lots of cafes, coffee shops and restaurants near by on Botanic, Lisburn Rd and Stranmillis. The weather in Belfast can be dull but there is lots of activities to keep you busy, facilities are warm especially the library. Really good nightlife, lots of bars and clubs it also cinemas and places to walk. The PEC gym and sports facility is really good and there are options for people from all sports including fencing, rowing, GAA and rugby. I am pretty sure there is nearly a society for everything, The new student union just opened and its class, lots of places to sit and talk, study, there’s a shop, a bar and even a nightclub- it’s quite cool.

As a medical student I would prefer more hands on teaching of clinical skills, more often. Overall an enjoyable place to study. One of the only places in the UK that still allows students to dissect on cadavers, a unique and useful way to learn. Lots of really good hospitals and teaching facilities near the campus during placement years. Contact time increases as the years go on. Lecturers are open to contact and although I don’t do it often, times that I have I have received quick responses
