I'm a fresher and the uni has made me very welcome since moving to Nottingham - love my course too (Psychology). Freshers week was organised well and everyone hs been supportive!

REALLY close to the city so you can pop to the shops any time! Also brilliant for clubbing and getting home f you're a bit worse for wear!

Fairly wide range if you like sport and music but just nothing that particularly interests me and the ones that do are on a different campus and i can't afford the bus all the time!

The best aspects have to be the facilities available to students for both curricular and extracurricular activities. There are lots of engaging societies and society nights that are enjoyable and allow you to meet lots of different people. However, sometimes there is a lack of communication from uni-student and more clarity could be provided on things like assessments.

I personally don't see the point in in-person lectures anymore. it takes about 2.5hrs (1 hr lecture + some notes, 1hr finishing notes at home and researching anything I don't understand, and 30 mins making flashcards from home) whereas using the online system to complete lectures means you can generate flashcards directly from the lecture content (saves the hour of note taking independently and the hour of sitting in the lecture unable to get your notes properly due to the pace of certain lectures) saving about 1-1.5 hours per lecture. Additionally, if there's anything you don't understand you have the ability to pause the lecture and research there and then so you understand the rest of the lecture content instead of having to redo a whole section of the lecture when it is live. And if you do sufficiently understand a topic in the lecture you can skip or increase the playback speed to further save time. Based on this information I'm beginning to believe that face-to-face lectures are becoming obsolete. The argument could be made that in-person lectures adhere to the brains mechanisms of memory and you're likely to remember more from attending physically, however with apps such as Anki available there are guaranteed and arguably superior methods to memorise the content

I believe that the accommodation was perfect in terms of location, safety, and general living requirements. However, we faced issues with some of the cleaning staff leaving areas unattended. Additionally the prices on all of the university-owned accommodations were extortionate
