The people and classes are great, although sometimes you really need to hunt down some feedback on your work.

The facilities and equipment are great, but it's unfortunate that a lot of the licences for the art programmes aren't accessible remotely.

Its expensive but the accommodation help desk is quick.

The community (in CTA) can be really good and inclusive! The university facilities that they offer is industry standard at times, and if we are missing anything, our tutors/staff always listen to our feedback. The animation course is well-known in the professional world, with students creating wonderful films and pursuing their dreams in the courses. Herts has also given me part time job opportunities like becoming an ambassador, and a school community organiser with the Student Union. The downsides are things like external factors to do with the Uno buses and Herts buses, always being unreliable for commuting. I have not done accommodation but I have heard some bad and good things about it, so things like hygiene, security and support could be improved.

We have scheduled lessons most days in Year 1, the hardest amount of coursework is in Year 2, and its much less scheduled lessons in Year 3 but lots of independent work is expected. The lecturers always make time with all students and they are definitely the highlight - all having actual experience with what they teach, and always push students to do their best. Most lessons are in-person but all lessons are recorded for easy access remotely, with most course content on Canvas. Student feedback on all the assignments (all portfolio work, no exams) are always implemented, and whenever students are struggling with mental health we are always heard out and is changed the next year. Our computer labs keep getting better and are up to date.
