Worst part is not being able to have lectures in big lecture theatres - even though it’s trivial, lectures in normal classrooms just aren’t as good. Best part is the location of the uni in the city centre

I have multiple online recorded lectures a week - paying for not many contact hours isn’t great. I don’t really know the job prospects of my degree

Flat wasn’t cleaned when first arrived, botched job of the elevators, unsafe road with no lighting to get to it, poorly behaved and unhygienic flatmates the building won’t deal with, had many problems with water issues and the rip off that is circuit laundry (even though that’s not necessarily the buildings fault).

Staff and support teams here make me feel really comfortable. They have a relaxed teaching approach which makes me feel confident in my studies as I don’t feel any unnecessary pressure. Their hybrid teaching method (online lectures and on campus seminars), means that I can study at a pace that suits me whilst also receiving face to face support. The campus buildings looks nice and are well maintained, making a vibrant and pleasant studying environment. The University really appreciates and celebrates diversity which makes me (a person of a non-white background) feel seen and heated by the university as my culture and religion is often celebrated. The Campus offered catering and snacks at a reasonable price meaning that I do not have to worry about leaving campus to find food that is better priced, they also cater to a wide range of dietary needs which is very convenient. The only real complaint I would have is that sometimes seminar times are set at an awkward time of the day which makes it sometimes quite difficult for me to attend at a commuter. For instance I have a seminar at 4-6pm which can be quite awkward timing. Other than that I can say I genuinely enjoy university and am glad I choose Leeds Beckett University!

I like that my module content is very diverse and covers a broad range of topics. In my classes we are allowed to express our views without being judged and are able to question our lecturers about their views. I like how my subject is both interactive work and independent work, meaning I can take their views of other and apply it to my own work. I like that we can cover controversial topics but not feels awkward in situations, as my lecturers are able to approach topics in a sensitive and understanding way. One complaint I would have is that sometimes I feel like questions can be rather vague and we are sometimes left to fend for ourselves. I understand that we are being trained to try and use our initiative when answering questions, however sometimes it can be rather hard to do so.

I like that it is in the city centre and close to the trains station and bus station. It means that as a commuter university is accessible and transport is not expensive!
