It has been very good so far. I have had great work, educational and social opportunities. I’ve tried lots of new things and made new friends. I love living so close to the beach and nature.

Swansea Employability Academy has lots of resources available

Nightlife in Swansea is awesome, hardly ever a dull night. The student village for first years has an amazing social atmosphere with lots of parties. The campus is great, containing all your needs as a student - shops, cafe's, bar, SU. Its a short distance to the city centre and even shorter distance to the beach. The beach is nice, not quite as good as the beach in Bournemouth where I'm from however (slightly biased!). Swansea and the Gower offer many outdoor pursuits such as cycling, surfing, hiking, etc. The uni also has a wide range of sports with good nearby facilities. There are many new and well established societies to suit a wide range of interests. Highlights throughout the year include freshers week, the Welsh Varsity (huge sports event vs. Cardiff) and the summer ball. Most courses are based on current, ongoing research so you will be taught cutting edge methods and theories. Many courses offer interesting fieldtrips and/or placements within the UK or abroad (for example I'm off to Vancouver in spring 2015 for a second year Geography fieldtrip).
