There is a real effort by the students union to make the student experience a good one, lots of free activities both by the su and university itself, however the financial issues caused by mismanagement post-covid are substantial which in turn result in high costs for students for things like hiring minivans to train off-campus etc. The university on the other hand seems to not care in the slightest for students or staff. Repeated, terrible deals with companies in change of the on campus accommodation have put the uni in terrible financial issues. They are working on layoffs and paying giant sums of money to consultants so they can be told to fire more staff. After decades of government austerity surely we have recognised that austerity does not work right? student experience is affected by the layoffs, it doesn't matter how much the uni deny it. Keele has a lot of excellent staff who really care and want the students to come out with so much more than just a sheet of paper but the biased upper management seem to love lining their own pockets. Overall, great uni, geography is a great course and student experience can be fantastic if you make it so but someone needs to do a whole revamp of management.

the lecturer quality is high and the course content is fairly diverse and interesting. Tutor quality is variable, mine for example doesnt really seem to have an interest in tutees, it seems like they believe the only reason to go to uni is for a piece of paper.

for £150 quid a week I recieved gulag style accomodation. at least my room was warm because im not gonna pay that much and ever have the heating off. the woods by my accomodation were nice to be fair. Student experience is what you make of it, having a greedy company in charge of halls does not help though.
