Despite the difficult year, I have had a great start to uni life and can’t wait to see what the next two years will be like. The social and academic sides have been great so far. I’m hoping that with the lessening of restrictions I will be able to experience the true student experience and feel more connected to the uni’s community.

While the uni have extended opening times in summer to get access to equipment after missing out this year, building work has meant we are unable to access the teaching suite which has impacted my studies quite a bit.

Recent changes have been made to make services more well-known and accessible. The instagrams are also well run as they remind you what is available even when you aren’t actively seeking support.

Online has been difficult but a great attempt has been made to make them interactive and engaging. Having one in person lecture a week has been great, under the circumstances as it allows me to use my practical skills.

Amazing lecturers who share really useful resources in an accessible way. They genuinely put in the work to set you up for success and are nice people. FCH Campus is beautiful, and has everything you need, and Cheltenham is the same! Could be improved by turning the heating on in the labs more in the winter.

The class sizes are still small (around 30 or less), but not as small as suggested when saying how few people there are doing Geography (about 15) as we share modules with other courses e.g. Ecology and Environmental Science, Criminology. We only have 2 meetings with our personal tutor a year, however they are available to email and/ or book additional appointments with whenever you want Most of the course is lecture based (mainly just being taught in a classroom-like environment) with some activities as groups as part of the lecture, rather than with separate, small-group seminars.

Really nice and modern with plenty of cooking space and fridge/ freezer capacity (although not loads of cupboard space in the Enhanced En-suite kitchens). Really secure, safe-feeling site. The walk to FCH campus is through Pittville Park which is sooo pretty and good for mental well-being. There's a free shuttle bus on student nights that runs to the door of the club and back all night which is great for safety. Definitely more expensive than private accommodation, but that may be because its mainly en-suites. They also run chill events for residents in the main reception building, which also has a free gym and study space for students.
