Great teachers and love the course content, but I feel the student support could be better.

Honestly there is little wrong with UOE. There is plenty of equipment in the STEM lab. Being so close to Colchester town Center is great for night life. I have found the staff very helpful with planning my future. The campus has lots of green areas and the buildings look tasteful and modern. As the campus is always busy it feels like a real community. If I wanted to I could live entirely on campus with the exception of getting a haircut! The student union host mixers and events all the time to meet people or just sit and have a chat. They are also really involved in making our lives better.

After the end of lockdowns and when covid had died down we went back to full time in person learning which personally I prefer as it is more engaging. The course content interests me highly as biology is what I am passionate about. There are lots of summer placements available, I haven’t done one as I have a job but, I hear good things from friends. Overall the lecturers have been highly attentive and involved with us. As I mentioned before the careers team have been crucial to helping me figure out my next move. And I mentioned the STEM facilities, as this is the only area I have experienced. As you progress through the years you see your tutor less as there isn’t really anything they can do for you as you become much more independent. However if I do contact them via email I will always hear back within a day or two.
