In comparison to other cities Sheffield feels quite safe and there's a good balance between intergration with the city and being removed in a student bubble. You're just as far from the city centre as you are to the countryside, there's so much greenery and opportunity to get involved in sport, there's a lot of different communities you can get involved with. Location aside, the SU does an amazing job at putting on events, bonding opportunities- and encouraging a safe student experience (hosting their own club nights in the SU). The facilities are always being improved and my quality of education is incredible. There are so many different societies and sports teams, you can work at the SU (it's an amazing place to work)- I can't recommend it enough. Don't think I would have enjoyed anywhere else as much. In addition, the opportunities to expand employability are everywhere. I've already landed two interships at the uni already and i'm only half way through second year. I can't sing its praises enough.

The course is taught in person however all lectures are recorded- I think this is a fantastic way of doing things. My course has a lot of contact time due to the intensity of the work load and practical nature of the cours, so I am really impressed. I think these three years are doing a compete transformation on my life and potential, I will not be the same after this for all the right reasons. Lecturers/ tutors on my course are so approachable and knowledgeable, I have a lot to thank them for.

The city is a perfect balance between 'buzzing city' and green countryside. There are loads of opportunities for sport and there's a lot of community here. It is quite a poor area in some spaces and parts of the city can be quite unsafe, which I don't love.

I loved the social aspect of halls, and the location was safe. Loved living in a student village. In terms of value for money, the rent was very expensive compared to the quality and price of private halls. It also wasnt too safe and there were numerous break ins during my stay there.
