Great sense of community because there are so many students. Made memories and friends for life. Some great lectures, some that I don't feel are particularly great. Most staff very nice. Like the buildings. Nice friendly uni

Great radio and podcasting facilities. Free access to a lot of software. love the newsroom feels very professional. Some teachers are biased/have favourites. Some do not give you that much respect, one still does not know my name and it has been 1.5 years. But some are brilliant, my shorthand teacher is probably the best teacher I have ever had

I have had the best time and I think i chose the best uni because it focuses on the academic side but also on the social side as well, organising events such as LDOT. Moving to uni knowing nobody was scary but I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I think I have matured a lot having to be so independent.

Excellent facilities, on my course I am able to loan any expensive film or camera equipment I need to film interviews and footage for my reports. There is also a 24 hour library meaning you can work whenever you want to

I think there is good support academically as you can contact your tutors whenever you want and receive a reply fairly quickly! Also we receive thorough feedback on our assessments. I have never encountered the personal side of uni help, however my housemate has and they are excellent they do what they can to make sure she is comfortable and happy when taking exams and participating in seminars and lectures.

From visiting my friends at other universities, I think we have one of the best student unions because there is everything we need. They offer a place to work with a cafe and hot food, a gym and when on a night out there it feels like any other club it doesn’t feel like I am in uni.

Yes it has everything I could need very close by.

I think there is something for everyone, there are even societies I never knew existed so I think everyone can be a part of something.

What I like most is that we touch on everything. On my course we look at writing newspaper articles, online articles, voice overs, radio, photography, filming and any other type of journalism, However I do think the course is very old fashioned in the way that they focus a lot on news reporting and tell us to target our work for middle aged people when I think a lot of us would like a chance to write about things we are interested in such as fashion and music and target it for our generation with online links etc.

We carry out mandatory placements on my course which gives us the opportunity to gain experience, there is also careers advice offered and they also have days where people from real businesses come in and you are able to chat with them and find out whether there are any job openings available.
