The Chemistry department at York is always very supportive and great at making sure everyone integrates in well. The ability to switch between the BSc and MChem routes anytime before the end of the 2nd year is also highly appreciated as many students tend to switch from BSc to MChem.

We get around 20 contact hours each week which is one of the highest for the courses that York offers. This includes a full day of labs which provides invaluable hands-on experience and is extremely beneficial for future career prospects. We also have tutorials and workshops almost entirely hosted by lecturers rather than GTAs or other students which I like as the lecturers are often far more knowledgeable.

Derwent is one of the older buildings but I got a pretty nice room and for the price it would be quite difficult to find anything better.

Great academic results and social scene. Had a great three years and the campus is as great as the city. Have now moved up to live and work in York after finishing my degree. Love it!

Not the best SU in the UK. However it does not need to be, the local clubs put on alot of events for students.

Beautriful historic city. Lots to do when the family comes to visit! Also a good night life as well as being one of the safest cities in the UK.

Lots of societys on campus not always well advertised

Most lectures are informative and interesting.

The job market is competetive however I had already had secured a job as an Analytical Chemist before I graduated.

Great on campus accomadation and in a surplus of student houses around the city centre.
