The best aspects are, the campus, the size of it and how everything is in the one place and that it doesn’t take long to go from one building to another (even though it does feel like it when you’re walking from Cottrell to Pathfoot).
It could be improved by having a cheaper shop on campus. The co-op was somewhat expensive but the Nisa local is even worse! However, I understand that it may be outwith the university’s control.

The worst aspects are lecture videos instead of real life lectures. There are people paying good money to come here to learn and they don’t get an in person one. I think it, was okay during COVID-19 as it meant we were kept as safe as possible! I am not against them recording them, however as we can go back and watch them. I have had a semester where I would have one per week for Spanish culture (SPAU9A3), However, I have never had one for any of my french classes just ‘mini lectures’ at the start of classes, which is okay but I’d rather they were separate as it means my brain has more time to absorb information. However, I completely understand that the lecturers are only given a certain amount of time each week for classes.
The best aspects is that it is small classes, making discussion times easier!

What do you think about the safety, condition, location and cost of your accommodation?
The worst aspects are, sometimes the accommodation has problems, and as much as the AOAs sort out maintenance, the problems shouldn’t have been there in the first place, e.g. a blocked shower drain (in HHD), broken hob switch (in ACT), broken lamp bulb and pieces of glass on the desk (in MH), (all of which I have experienced in uni- upon arrival) Myself and fellow students shouldn’t have to come to uni and immediately find problems (that should’ve been checked for before arrival) as soon as they arrive, especially if they are staying so far away from home, all we want to do is to just relax and settle into our new homes.
The best is that we have keys to lock our room doors and the AOAs are quick at sorting something for you.

Overall, I had a really positive experience at Stirling. The campus environment suited students like me who had come from small communities. There were students from all over and a good variety of clubs to get involved in, with a strong focus on sport.
