Central location with easy access via train, plane, car, bus and tram! 4 great campuses with loads to do and explore. Good accommodation on catered and non catered. Great night life and a very active students union who are constantly putting on events.

Very active even on the smaller campuses.. Open to any ideas from the students.it is definetly a union moulded by its students!

It's a beautiful campus uni with great facilities - lots of libraries (each with a different feel), lively SU, good student job opportunities (I worked in the shop in the SU throughout uni), huge labs and lots of societies. It's a v quick tram ride (10 mins) or walk into town. Nottingham town is great fun for a night out whatever you're into. Also beautiful parks nearby, Wollaton & Colwick - if you're into nature or enjoy a nice coffee outside. Science subjects in particular are really well funded & there are great opportunities for extra training etc. I've had great careers support & my course has a 100% employability rate after graduating - however I've heard that this isn't the same for other courses (philosopohy, physics etc.). Also, in some subjects (e.g., English) there have been alot of strikes - students have lost out on weeks of learning at a time as a result. I went on an industrial placement year, where the uni supported me and kept in touch well, however there was an issue when I returned. The uni hadn't registered online that I was taking a year out, and returning back for my 4th (technically 3rd) year. So when I returned and tried to enter buildings and join societies I wasn't able to, my card wouldn't work. I spent hours queueing up for student services and security, being passed between departments just for one person to finally fix it (and admit how lazy of a mistake it was). By the time this fault had been fixed on my account, the deadline for certain societies had passed - I was unable to attend the training needed for me to join archery society, so this opportunity was taken away from me because of how lazy the uni had been when setting up my course return date... This is obviously a rare mistake, but is the only bad experience I have had during my 4 years here so felt relevant to share.

I have 20 something contact hours per week, this is on the more intense side for uni. I am mostly in person (although was obvs online for lockdown). My course is small (20 something students) which is nice, we all know eachother and have a group chat to ask questions on. Lecturers (for the most part) are very good, they'll take the time to chat to you and answer questions thoroughly. There is also a good range of modules, although none are optional I haven't found this to be detrimental. I really enjoy my course and have found it to set me up for a career within my field really well, there is a huge amount of support available (particularly careers support) and from speaking to coursemates, mental health support is also good.

Broadgate park is (to my knowledge) the only self catered hall on uni campus. It's just by the east exit of campus, so a short walk to the SU, lecture halls or buses. It's right by a tram stop (university boulevard) so handy for getting into town. It's relatively expensive but still the cheapest accommodation available for nottingham uni! I really enjoyed my time here, although the kitchen, rooms and bathrooms were small - the social aspect made up for this. You usually share a flat with 6 others, sharing common spaces. In your block, there are several other flats aswell so if you don't get on with your flat you're not alone. I really recommend self-catered accomodation, it's more independent than catered, more reflective of actually living away from home, more social and arguably better food!
