Everything is really nice, location is spot on, just outside of Manchester Centre, and staff is just so nice.

There is definitely a lot of diversity on campus which is lovely to see. I personally am not looking for a part-time work opportunity, therefore I don’t have much of a voice in that subject.

Other than having small issues with my tutors, my overall uni experience has been good. I found my way and developed new skills in things I had never done. My only issue is that I wish I attended more when I had the chance and fully took advantage of the facilities before covid as now I won’t be using them ever again. Whilst working from home it has definitely taken it’s toll on my experience but it did allow me to work without distraction and I have come out with better grades that what I went in with.

All the facilities were amazing and always had technicians on hand in the art school. My course allowed for individual studio space and lockers also. We also had places to borrow equipment and buy supplies in non profit student shops on site.

We were offered mental health support and possible sessions where you could see a councillor if needed. We also had student support where I went to talk about serious matters involving an accident which resulted me having to go to hospital and they advised me on how to get a solicitor, this session was part of their walk in service which was open mon-fri (I think) and I was seen within 10 minutes of me arriving.

Tutors were around most days if needed, if not there was always technicians around to offer any additional help. Things being taught online was still trying to be figured out at first but grade boundaries were adjusted to allow for anything we were unable to do whilst at home. Contact time varied depending on how much you wanted- they were always in the office when we weren’t in lectures/ scheduled sessions or an email away and would could and see you ten minutes later.

They have contacted via email but considering I don’t know exactly what route I want to go down it is hard for them to fully support me right now. I have been to cv workshops etc as part of the union and my course also had speakers come in at least every term to talk to us about their creative journey. At one point every year the uni have had weekly and some times daily visitors giving lectures to various courses. In my second year I was given the opportunity to do an extended third term and my course shouldn’t have been allowed on it but a visiting speaker pulled some strings! There I was given lots of career advice in terms of education and even offered placements.
