The University of Glasgow has been an exceptional place to study. The academic environment is rich, diverse, and highly supportive, offering students countless opportunities to grow intellectually and personally. One of the standout aspects is the student services, which are truly remarkable. The staff are prompt, responsive, and go above and beyond to ensure students feel supported, whether it’s academic advice, mental health services, or general assistance. Their approach is highly personalized and empathetic, which makes the university feel welcoming and inclusive. The facilities are excellent, ranging from well-equipped libraries to modern lecture halls and study spaces, catering to all kinds of learning needs. The university also has a vibrant campus life, with events, clubs, and activities that help students build connections and explore their interests. If there’s any room for improvement, perhaps enhancing the communication about events and resources for international students could be considered, as some information might get overlooked. However, this is a minor point compared to the overall experience.

The best part of my course is the incredible support from my supervisor. Their guidance has been invaluable in helping me navigate my PhD journey. They are always approachable and provide clear advice, whether it’s about applying for scholarships, planning research tasks, or tackling academic challenges. This level of personal support has given me a lot of confidence in my studies and made me feel truly supported. The course structure is well-organized, and the balance between independent research and supervisory meetings works perfectly for me. The flexibility allows me to explore my research interests while still feeling connected to the academic community. If there’s an area for improvement, I would suggest more opportunities for peer interaction or workshops specifically tailored for PhD students. While the support from lecturers is fantastic, having more spaces to share ideas with fellow researchers would enrich the experience further.

What I like most about the university’s halls is the convenience and amenities. The location is excellent, making it easy to get to campus and nearby shops. The facilities are well-maintained, and having essentials like laundry rooms, study spaces, and social areas makes daily life much easier. The halls also feel safe, with good security measures in place, which is very reassuring. The staff are very helpful and responsive, quickly addressing any issues or concerns. This level of support really enhances the overall living experience. If I had to point out something I like least, it would be the cost. While the amenities and location are great, the price can feel a bit high compared to private accommodations nearby.

I think more clear information on exams in advance would be beneficial however the support is already great
