Best part is the facilities. For film production the amount of kit is insane The worst is the student life. There’s no sense of togetherness with society’s or events

Best is the community within film production. Worst is that some lecturers don’t seem to understand what’s going on

Salford Uni is located in a really nice spot of Greater Manchester, where you are either a 30 minute walk from the City centre, or a 30 minute walk from Salford Quays. So, it's location has really helped influence me into getting into walking, so if want to go to Media City I can take a quick walk there or the same is for Deansgate or the Northern Quarter. There is also a train station right outside of the Uni, which makes travelling back home very accessible. Plus, all of the public transport, including buses, are fantastic around the Uni as well, with the 51 bus being a key positive. Peel Park is also situated on the Campus, and its a beautiful, quiet area that allows for students like myself, to still stay in touch with nature, making the balance Manchester's urban liveliness and the Campus' calmness a great addition to student life here. One of the downsides to the Campus though, is that I've found the local Campus shop to be a bit too expensive for student spending, and so I've never gone there. However, there is an Aldi nearby, so there's also a great alternative as well.

The best aspect of the course is the teachers, they are exactly what I need to feel that I can become a better filmmaker. They have a few ideas on how films should be made. However, they are also very open to experimentation, and they have a true drive to get you out there filming as much as possible. They are also fantastic people to chat to, and you can tell instantly that they all have a lot of passion for what they do.

It's a very beautiful building, and for £164 per week, i get a very large shared kitchen and living room space, unlimited WiFi, gas and electricity, and ensuite with more than enough space for me to move into and a nice games room as well. The atmosphere in the building is lovely, I have an incredible view of manchester from my room, and if there are any maintenance issues, then the maintenance team sort it out with 2 days. Therefore, its a wonderful place to live at.
