Atmosphere and volume of students around the area adds a huge buzz and excitement to study

Best would be the amount of hands on hours we have with equipment. Worst part is the timings of the lectures make it hard to work part time jobs

Most is the cleanliness of the place and the staff are amazing. Bad news is the location next to main road

I am a student that commutes so I don't really have a feel for the student life. There are a lot of society's that run, mostly in the evenings so I don't get to take part in them either. I believe if you move to Canterbury there will be more to participate in, and you would get to enjoy the student experience more.

Large range of equipment for all types of filmmaking, and the course is very hands on so you really get a chance to understand all of it. The technicians are really helpful and always on hand to help out, even with personal projects that you may be working on. The tutors are also always just an email away if you need help, and you get assigned an individual tutor that you can arrange meetings with, so if you're struggling with anything, work or personal, you have the support there. All of the lessons are in the building and in person, unless we have a guest speaker, then that session takes place on zoom for the ease of the speaker. The course is built up really well between theory and practical work, and it allows you to create a good body of work and skills that the industry is looking for. There isn't a set time for work experience, like on other courses, but we are encouraged to look for roles out in the industry, and our tutor's also occasionally send us adverts for jobs related to film. If you do find work experience that happens during term time, you can get the absences you require signed off, and you can apply for a bursary to cover your travel over that period if you need it, although this isn't largely talked about on the course.
