There’s not many students, so you make a close bond to your teachers which is nice when it comes to support. You also get close to the students over time. There are 3 universities in Canterbury so it makes for a good student life, however there aren’t many societies because of it being a small university. More variety of student life would be nice. Canterbury is beautiful on its own with the cathedral and students go for free.

It’s good in terms of equipment usage and teacher experiences. Especially when you make a bond with a teacher. However when it comes to judging films it’s subjective, and I feel like that can make for negative feedback if they don’t match your vision.

Good for student experience because you get to know new people. However my one was next to a club so it was very loud every night. The kitchens can get dirty, but it’s luck of the draw who you get. I think I got lucky with mine because everyone was kind and clean.

There is nothing negative that I have to say about CCCU. All my lectures are brilliant and the facilities are great. All departments are highly responsive across email often fixing problems the day after an email is sent; anything can take up to a week but the weeks fly by. The flaws have nothing to do with CCCU, rather Student Finance England. I’ve made a lot of progress and everyone is very supportive. I couldn’t ask for a better learning experience.

One lecture about industry, two practical about professional equipment, and one online featuring guest speakers is perfect. The course covers a wide range of useful information and allows us to really experience professional equipment and software which is useful for getting into the industry. Each session allows ups to show of our creativity and passion. Our lecturers are equally as passionate about the subjects they teach whether they take extra time after to talk about a cool camera you’ve brought in or just chat about the writing you like. PAT’s especially are happy to talk about any problems you’re having. As most lectures are recorded, we’re able to watch them back in case we didn’t understand anything the first time, it’s very useful.

My accommodation is 5 minutes from my university and another 5 minutes from town. Everything feels like it’s only a short walk away. The city centre is always so lively and the parks are beautiful and relaxing. The range of shops is huge compared to my home town so it’s very exiting for me. The architecture of Canterbury is beautiful and there are so many different people, it’s very refreshing. Finding foreign foods is easily accessible.

For the most part, the rooms are excellent value for money. It’s worthwhile as if you find anything broken, they’ll come and fix it as soon as they can. Most my flatmates are lovely but not always as quiet as I’d like. It’s worse that the windows are thin and so are the ceilings so I can always hear the loud partygoers at night. Similarly to some of my friends who also reside here, we are aware that we chose 'quiet accommodation' but most people have not received this so it feels pointless to specify. Security and housekeeping are lovely to talk to and always happy to help. Having my own ensuite is refreshing as I don’t have to interact with people if I’m not feeling like it. Having this room to myself makes me feel safe as I know my belongings won’t be touched. We labelled each of the cupboards and fridge/freezer shelves ourselves and take the bins out regularly. We keep the place clean and tidy. The blackout curtains are certainly useful at night when the lights across the street are always on!
