The course is structured in a way that teaches you a lot about technical and sewing skills. I wasn't the best pattern cutter when I started in 1st year but the design and pattern cutting tutors help you develop your skills which make you grow as a person, and more employable. There is a lot of facilities and machinery to make use of like the embroidery machine, 3D workshop, metal fabrication, print studio etc. The Menswear Archive is a great research library of garments and wonderful for inspiration. Good industry connections and alumni. It would be beneficial to offer students free calico and threads to help offset material costs.

The course is taught 100% in person. You are expected to come in and work at least 2-3 times a week, not just for contact time with the lectures but to develop your own projects. There is a mix of group and 1 to 1 sessions with the tutors. There is a good mix on teaching about different fabrications and WW/MW such as tailoring, denim and print. Overall it depends on how much effort you want to put into class.

There is security 24/7, alright value for money however the room sizes are quite small depending on which one you choose. Good location as it's a path down from the uni. Shops, gyms, grocery stores are a 20min walk/ bus ride away. The tenancy length is not long. There are cleaners for the common areas. Can meet wonderful people.

The fashion designer course has opened so many doors for me in terms of industry connections and work experience. It also has great facilities and space which is amazing. The tutors support us every step of the way.

Our course is taught in person with weekly check ins with tutors it’s very important to have that time to get feedback back in person.
