Best: One of the best parts of studying at my university has been the supportive and diverse creative community. Whether you’re in a design course or something completely different, you’re surrounded by people who genuinely want to collaborate and grow. The facilities like the studios, workshops, and tech rooms are a huge plus. You get access to industry-standard equipment, and the tutors are approachable, experienced, and really committed to helping you push your work further. I’ve also loved how many opportunities there are outside the classroom, from exhibitions and events to networking with professionals. Worst: Like many universities, there are areas that could be improved. Sometimes the admin side can feel slow things . During busy project periods, studio spaces can get quite crowded, and you might have to plan ahead to get time with certain machines or bookable resources.

Studio spaces and equipment can get busy, so you need to plan ahead. Some modules could benefit from clearer expectations at the start, especially when it comes to assessments and timelines. There are also weeks where contact hours feel low, which means you need to be disciplined with self-directed work.
