Birmingham City university is a great university, the courses are well structured and the job prospect percentages are great, especially in the BIAD faculty - Fashion Design specific. The lecturers have a lot of experience in industries also which is a big help when it comes to wanting to know about where you want to work in the future.

The facilities at Birmingham City University are really good, there are quite a few campus's across Birmingham, so depending on your course you'll be based where necessary. The good thing is that where you are based, you can use the facilities at any of the other campuses, including computer, study spaces, libraries etc. The millennium point campus is the newest built and has really good facilities.

Student support at Birmingham city university is really good, they have many different offices around campus for various different things, so there is always somewhere to go if help is needed, as well as online facilities including online chats for help for students in different areas.

The student union are always putting the student first, there are lots of events going on throughout the year from fresher events, bar crawls, charity events, final major project fund raising and many more. The student union get you involved when voting for rep's, letting you know how they aim to help the students, so you know what you can get from it.

Birmingham is a lively city to live in, being the the next capital city in the UK after London, there is loads to do. Outside of university and studying, you'll never be bored. The bullring shopping centre for retail, restaurants and bars, Star City, Birmingham Great Park, Aston, Digbeth Galleries and shops, Broad Street - clubs, restaurants and bars. Not to mention the German Market every christmas that comes to town.

As mentioned in the city life, the clubs and bars are really good in Birmingham. Broad street and Arcadian being the main places to go, Freshers have SO many events to go to, and nothing is too pricey either. Even for those living at home and studying at Birmingham City University, the student union gets everyone involved in club and society events.

The courses at Birmingham City university are well varied, for example the course Fashion Design allows you to specialise in specific pathways i.e. communications, costume design, garment technology etc. So you can get the most of seeing different areas of your course specialism before you decide what you want to focus on, toward a career. The majority of lecturers have worked in the industry of that specialism, which is good to know when it comes to help and questions.

The job prospects at Birmingham City University are very good and hold a high statistic of students who secure jobs when they graduate. They also have a lot of resources with helping with job prospects, along with specialist tutors who specialise in careers. Within my course - Fashion Design, we had a whole module on work experience and careers, dedicating into getting us ready for the world of work and knowing the area we wanted to access

I lived at home, however I have been to the accommodation through friends at university and the accommodation is really good. For the millennium point campus, the accommodation is city central which mean it's good for everything from food shopping to clothes shopping. Aswell as only being literally a 2 minute walk away from campus!

Worst- no freedom in the work for the first two years Best- can be inducted onto other courses to learn to put into your own work. I. E. Metal work

Worst- teachers doesn’t explain lessons properly or briefs Best- can have a 1:1 whenever you need it or contact tutor to ask questions and they respond quickly

Love the location as it’s 20 minutes to both city and moor street station including the bullring and market! Not so great you have to walk quite a bit to get food as it’s in the town but do have a Greggs that’s a 10 minute walk max
