The best thing about the university is undoubtedly the people. Aberdonians, fellow postgraduate students, and most members of staff have always been welcoming, friendly, and supportive. As an international student arriving in Scotland from halfway across the world, I have consistently felt a strong sense of belonging, both within the university community and in the city more broadly. The most challenging aspect, though through no fault of the university itself, is its location in northern Scotland. The long winters often feel perpetually cold and dark, which can take some getting used to.

As a postgraduate student, I didn’t have formal classes to attend. However, the School of Biological Sciences offered weekly research seminars featuring scientists from within the department as well as guest speakers from other institutions. For postgraduates who usually concentrate only on their own projects and are at best familiar with the work of immediate peers, these sessions were a great opportunity to gain insight into the research being carried out in other laboratories across the globe.

It's very a great opportunity to study here. All the facilities in UoA are good and convinient to use. Staff and teachers are really nice, you never worry about where or whom to find if you have any question or problems.

Laboratory courses for my subject are really interesting. However, I would be very satisfied if there are more of them.
