It’s such a multicultural university that it is so easy to mix with people from different countries; this aspect makes the university exude equality and acceptance to everyone. There could be improvements in the personal tutorial sessions that the course provides; perhaps we could have more frequent sessions, or, have universal tutorials so there is more of an opportunity to mix with students from other disciplines and perhaps share thoughts !

It’s beneficial that our lectures are recorded when taught in class and means I can review them if I missed something important.

The campus is gorgeous and green with lots of nice socialising spots and good variety of shops and facilities. It could be improved with more spaces for PhD and research networking and casual socialising. I find I get most of my social interaction from internal and external conferences and workshops. It would be nice to rub shoulders with the same people but in a more casual less academic environment. Especially as I live very far from campus it would help with feeling more part of the uni.

I’m a PhD so I don’t have any lectures or contact time outside of supervisory meetings. The course is as challenging as I make it and the type of learning methods I use depend on me. It’s very free and very independent learning but can also be very isolating and lonely.
