The uni feels like a very supportive and encouraging learning environment. Lecturers and technicians always have time for students to answer questions and teach them about things outside the syllabus if they are interested. The sharing of knowledge feels like a top priority at UWE. Having grace periods for deadlines (this year we have five extension days on top of the official deadline) is really confusing. Students work towards different deadlines and it is a major cause for stress across my course. It also delays the grades we get back as lecturers can only see the assignments after the five day extension is up.

The course is great! We lecturers and technicians are all extremely passionate about their subjects and it transfers onto the students. I feel very engaged with the content taught on the course - it is laid out clearly and has a good ratio of concepts and case studies to understand how something works and how it is observed/applied. Across 1st and 2nd year it felt like some of the concepts we had already learnt were being taught again with not much new information. The jump from 2nd year to 3rd year was challenging but manageable - it feels like there’s an opportunity to increase the detail of topics covered in second year.

Wallscourt facilities and design was good. I lived with 12 people but the house didn’t feel overcrowded, it was communal. I liked being on an all girls floor but in a gender mixed house the balance between having a safe female space and a house with both guys and girls was great. I experienced halls during the second lockdown of covid so the social aspect was somewhat strained. Noise carried across the halls when someone was drunk, loud and shouting which added to the slightly desolate feel of halls during lockdown. If possible, reducing transmission of noise across the courtyards and streets of the halls would greatly improve the experience,

Lots of courses and opportunities and really great staff that are engaged, engaging, and genuinely enlightening

It's a really fun course. Very interesting if bleak. It'll hopefully prepare us fully for real life and what not
