Bangor is set in such a beautiful part of the country: you're a short bus or cycle away from incredible coast and mountains and there are rare plants and animals in the unique habitats really nearby (I've spotted both curlews and red squirrels!). This makes it a perfect place to study conservation, and a really nice place to live. The uni is really focused on hearing from students and the students' union makes sure our voices are heard and impact how the uni is run. There aren't loads of study spaces and there's not much in terms of food & drink beyond vending machines in the uni itself, although there are plenty of supermarkets very near by.

I've been impressed by the quality of the teaching and by how hands on the course is: lots of field trips, including running a project on the University farm. There have been two careers fairs this semester, one focused specifically on careers linked to the School for Environmental & Natural Sciences.
