The faculty and facilities in the university for automotive engineering is outstanding. Very good links with the industry as well. The staff are friendly and go out of the way to help students. Being a campus university with all the facilities makes it a close-knit university community.

The course is fully based in class. It is a bit hectic, but the modules are extremely relevant to the industry and helps the student be ready and get up to speed quickly when working in the industry.

The FAB is an amazing building and great place to study. The humanities building is not being used due to RAAC concrete though so I have lectures in some strange conference rooms and postgrad rooms. The course is very unique but I enjoy a joint honours degree for the variety and mix of people I meet. Rootes grocery store is highly overpriced but Tesco and Aldi aren’t too far (depending on which accommodation you’re in).

We only have 4 lectures and 4 seminars a week which isn’t too much but there’s a lot of reading to do in your own time. This is fine once you learn to skim read and selectively read otherwise there’s no time to do anything else. It’s all in person teaching not online, though we have 2 online exams.

The accommodation is really nice, the kitchen is a bit bland but it does the job. It’s pretty close to Tescos but also really close to central campus so it’s a really good location.
