The campus is lovely, with lots of green space. It is great having a climbing wall on campus. The city of Lancaster is also really nice, not too large and overwhelming yet there is plenty to do. Being near the Lake District is a huge bonus, and it is very accessible by public transport. The worst aspect of the campus is that there is very limited plant-based food options, and the food more generally is expensive, not very nutritious, very unsustainable and not great for dietary requirements and allergies.

Some of the modules are really interesting and teach you useful and relevant practical skills, such as species id. Most of the academic staff are really helpful and engaging. The biggest problem with the course is that it is promoting solutions that will only go so far in papering over the current environmental problems the world is facing, like the climate and biodiversity crises, and the course doesn't sufficiently address the fundamental changes that are needed to our society in order to protect the environment.
