I am currently studying MSc International Business Management at De Montfort University, Leicester, and I am really enjoying my experience. DMU uses a block teaching method, and they are pioneers in this approach. I find it very effective because it allows me to focus on one module at a time for better understanding. The course is highly relevant to my future goals, and the teaching style is engaging and interactive — with weekly lectures, seminars, and workshops that make learning more practical and enjoyable. The only downside is that the workload can feel intense during each block, since all assessments come close together. However, this also helps build time management and focus, which are valuable skills for the future.

Best Aspects of the Course: So far, I have completed the first module, International Business Strategy, and I have found the learning experience very engaging and intellectually stimulating. The content is well structured and offers a good balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The lectures are clear and supported with real-world case studies that help in understanding complex international business concepts such as firm entry strategies, global competition, and resource-based perspectives. The teaching style is interactive, and lecturers are approachable and supportive when it comes to clarifying topics or giving feedback. I also appreciate that the course encourages critical thinking and links theory directly to international business practices. The blended learning approach with online materials and in-class discussions provides flexibility and helps to reinforce learning outside classroom hours. Worst Aspects of the Course: Since I have only completed one module so far, my experience is still developing. However, one area that could be improved is the pacing and workload balance at times, there is a lot of reading and research expected within a short period, which can feel intense, especially for new international students adapting to the UK education system. It would also be helpful if there were more practical workshops or group-based activities early on to help students apply theoretical frameworks more confidently. Overall, my initial experience with the MSc International Business Management programme has been positive, and I am looking forward to exploring the upcoming modules, as they seem well designed and relevant to current global business trends.

What I Like Most and Least About the University’s Halls What I Like Most: The best part about living in the university halls is the convenience and community atmosphere. The halls are generally safe, well-maintained, and provide all the basic amenities like laundry, Wi-Fi, and communal areas. It’s also a great place to meet new people from different backgrounds, which makes the student experience more enjoyable and helps build friendships quickly. What I Like Least: On the downside, the rent feels slightly high compared to private accommodations nearby, especially considering the size of the rooms. At times, maintenance requests can take a while to be resolved, and shared kitchen areas can get crowded or messy during peak times. Adding more social spaces or regular cleaning schedules could make the living experience even better. Overall, the halls offer a comfortable and safe environment, ideal for new students settling into university life.
