I am a distance student, so don't get to utilise the facilities, however I have lived in Portsmouth & know many students that have had good experiences on campus. As for the distance element, the university makes you feel part of the furniture and you're treated no different to as you would studying on campus, par the fact they need to change certain things for being a distance student. There is always someone on hand to help too, and when I was going through a particularly difficult time, they reached out to support me. ASDAC is also an incredible team, helping offer support for learning and disability needs. The location is also pretty cool, but why wouldn't it be when it's near the sea, shops and brilliant transport links!

Moodle was difficult to get used to, but this was raised and the University provided extra online sessions so that we could learn to navigate it better. Now it's easy to navigate and makes sense. The course content is good too and it isn't overly thrown at you, allowing you to gently move along and adapt to learning. Again, if you're having difficulty, there is always someone on hand to help and sources and signposting. The course is delivered via distance, which means we can fit it around our other commitments. Regular teams/zoom webinars are held, but the perk is they are recorded, so again, if we can't make the live webinar, we can watch it at a time that suits us. The padlet board is also useful. We can ask questions and engage that way, and the lecturers are readily available to look and reply to any queries.

Portsmouth university is a great place to study as it is located in a city which I would say is pretty convenient as you will get to remember the place quickly. Everything is on your doorstep. The local shopping centres, the beach, arcades and loads of other activities for people to enjoy. The campus itself isn't located within one situated place it is very spaced apart which personally I like as I don't feel claustrophobic and also its fun to go to different lecture rooms instead of being situated in one place all the time. The staff at Portsmouth university are always very helpful if you feel unsure about something or feel unwell in yourself either physically or mentally. They will always direct you to the best people who always give the best advice. The facilities are fantastic you can always borrow laptops for lectures or personal study. The library is always open to go and study and find books that you may require for you're course. (Staff are also lovely and kind so don't feel nervous or silly to ask for help). Student life is also something that is highly recommended there is lots of pubs and clubs to enjoy depending on your preference. Additionally, the student union always have events on and are there to help you. The university may seem daunting at first but once you get used to it you will love it! Currently, this is my first year of study and so far there isn't anything I would improve in particular. Everything was perfectly laid out when I joined. Induction week was very good it allowed me to get a feel of what university life is like.

My lectures are very friendly and are always there if I need or anyone needs any help to do with a particular subject. They always make sure to post extra reading materials for us and update us ahead of time if anything was to change. My tutor is also someone that makes sure we understand what Uni life is like in terms of academic style when it comes to writing essays for our modules.
