The university is great as it prioritises diversity and allows everyone to feel comfortable. There are facilities catered to people with disabilities as well as prayer rooms and opportunities specifically aimed at the BAME community. As well as this, the teaching and design of modules is always engaging and informative. Extra work is given to consolidate what is learnt in lectures, and emails are regularly sent out to alert students of activities linked to their degree as well as their hobbies and sports preferences. Something that the university could work on though is their provision of revision materials. I also think it would be a good idea to create groups for groupwork instead of always letting students select as it removes the anxiety of having to find people to work with. In my experience lectures have contained large groups of people which made it hard to form connections on a personal level as you were less likely to see the same people each day, to mitigate this I think the university would benefit from encouraging more seminars or events where students regularly get to meet in groups with the same people to build those friendships and discuss the degree.

The content of the lectures is always very interesting, informative and stretches the minds of the students so they can think outside of the box. My course in particular is rather broad so there are loads of different things for me to learn which means I never get bored and can show my capabilities in modules I am more confident with. Module convenors are great at explaining things and respond quickly to queries via email. In 2nd year I could have benefitted more from a more blended learning approach as online lectures sometimes alleviate the stress of going onto campus if you live slightly further away or are not feeling your best. Lecturers could improve the way they record in person lectures for students that were ill and missed them as sometimes only the audio is recorded making it hard to follow along with PowerPoint slides. Revision materials also could be improved.

Feels rather safe here and is smaller and more cosy compared to London, however sometimes I feel like there is a lack of things to do. It is nice to be here as the students really boost the energy of the city, however that it makes it harder to see Nottingham as a place to settle down after university.

Dagfa House was a really gorgeous and comfortable accommodation with great value for money. I shared the flat with 11 other people which was a good number in my opinion as I personally prefer to not share with too many people. We had a lovely cleaner and bathrooms were shared between two people. The common room was lovely and the ResX team regularly gave out snacks and treats which was nice. The main downfall was the location as it wasn't on campus and sometimes felt isolated from other halls.

There is great study culture and a number of resources to make it easy for students to make their research and become more acquainted with the subject of interest. The campus is big and beautiful. However, there should be more options for food on campus and better guidance for international students when booking accommodation.

The coursework is great. It’s engaging. But it can get difficult because of the workload.

I do not like that it is so far from the city centre. I think it would be best that international students are not held into a contract for a whole year when they have never visited a city and just choose based off of pictures and inclination. If I knew how far it was, I would not have chosen it. But I do like the services they provide. The staff is kind and approachable too.
