It's a great location, and a great modern university with good facilities and rooms that are always being improved. There have been a lot of cuts recently in budgets however and things such as laptop loans have been stopped, professors have had options for voluntary resignation for money, and some work is seen as too expensive. Student support is where this university lacks in my opinion, as i have several mental health issues including neurodivergence and they have refused to see me because I'm too servere. The community mental health team says I'm not severe enough so this has left me without support. They have however been able to offer extra time within exams, but this was after half a year of fighting with them over this.

A lot of the lecturers are hired based on knowledge and experience rather than if they can do the job. Half of the lecturers are bad at their job, giving boring uninteresting lectures and not including what needs to be included. Half of the course content seems unnecessary to the degree as all of the forensics courses are blended so we end up doing other courses subjects. I didnt meet this year's tutor until 3 months in, and they only arrange meetings with everyone every few months.

It's great being by the seaside, but due to that things tend to get a little more expensive. Flats, food, bills, are all more expensive. It's also very difficult to find part time work or even full time work as there are thousands of students in the same position as you, and graduates being prioritised for jobs. It's been 2 and a half years and I still haven't got a job. I have never had an issue with safety, but some are saying its becoming unsafe at night. However, police patrols are aiming to reduce this. There are public transport links absolutely everywhere in BCP so you can go anywhere.

I found it expensive as its possible to get similar one bedroom/ studios for similar prices with all bills included out of student accomodation. It would've been nice if rooms were allocated based on similar courses or like minded people as it did get very noisy at night with the partiers when a few of us where introverts. Safety was good as there was a reception that was staffed. But often staff disappeared for long periods of time and then anything was possible, and there were cases of rape within the halls.
