I have had an extremely positive university experience so far and have thoroughly enjoyed my course. It has been hard work but very rewarding and I feel so proud of myself for getting to 4th year!

Job Prospects

How does your uni make efforts to increase your employability (careers department, work placements, transferable skills)?

As part of our course we have to undertake school placements which help massively to increase practical skills for the workplace.

Course and Lecturers

What do you like most and least about the way your course(s) are taught?

We have excelllent staff in the school of education and I enjoy how they deliver our lectures and tutorials. In terms of what I like least, it would be getting more choice about modules

How many contact hours per week do you have?

Students' Union

What do you think of your Students' Union in terms of student representation and facilities?

Great. I feel kept up to date with elections and information about who our representatives are. I think they work very hard for the student body. The union building is slightly outdated now but I am aware a new building is currently being built which will be home of the new union.

Uni Facilities

How good are your university's facilities?

Good. We have a big campus with lots of buildings for lectures and tutorials. Our library hosts a wide range of facilities

Local life

Is your university in a good location in terms of distance to accommodation and local amenities?

Yes, my university is in a central location in the city centre of Glasgow. It is easily accessible by bus, train, subway or car. I live at home, around 20 minutes from my university and my journey is very easy.

Societies and Sports

How would you rate the variety of societies/sports?

Excellent - we have a wide range of sports societies and a new Strathclyde Sport gym

Student Support

How good is the support offered by the uni? Think both academic (tutors/feedback) and personal (counselling, etc).

Amazing! I think the support we are offered is second to none. At no point in my university experience have I ever felt like there was no one I could get assistance or advice from. The staff are a credit to the university. The union also host the advice hub which offers counselling services.
