This university is SO welcoming! Never feels lonely and you always know there is someone who will be happy to listen!

This course is taught brilliantly, as the theory is taught almost in “bulk”, then applied when on placement, which is carried out really well with plenty of support.

Such a lovely place to live with on-site support and lovely facilities!

Due to joining university in 2021, there was still covid restrictions. This meant it was hard to meet people in your course as it was still online. I think having more lectures in person in first year would be beneficial for the social aspect of university. I think coach lane is a really nice campus to study at and it has a real community feel to it. There are nice areas for you to go off on your breaks. Also, the staff are really supportive and respond to emails quickly to ensure you get the appropriate support.

With some of the lectures I think the structure of them can seem confusing. For example, having input for an assignment only a few days before it is due did not seem effective. By contrast, I think my course had lots of different workshops that allowed you to engage with all the subjects within the primary curriculum. The workshops are often engaging and practical which I enjoy.

I think Newcastle is a really nice area for students to live. It is a smaller city in comparison to others which makes it less daunting. It is also affordable to live and there are always deals and things on in places to make it more affordable for students. The only issue is there is often travel strikes on the metros and buses which can make it difficult when travelling to placement.

When I lived in student halls there was recantations on the whole building. This meant that scaffolding was put up outside your window and you were unable to see out. This made it not the best place to live as there was constantly work men outside your window and you could not see day light.
