I am part of CU Coventry. Which is under Coventry University Group. I’m on a different campus to the normal Coventry university campus, but still located in Coventry. At CU Coventry their way of teaching is brilliant and is in 6 week blocks and you have 1 assignment at the end of last week. But with every 6 weeks off you then have about 2 weeks off, if it’s around December to January you get a month off. The way it could be improved is not having all CU students have to come in 4 days a week. For my first year I was doing from 9am to 1pm, in my second year currently I’m doing 2pm till 4pm and when I get to my third year it’s meant to be going back to 9-1. As for a course like mine we only have 1 full day a week this way where we can do placement in a nursery / school setting. Not only that it costs so much to travel to university even if it’s by bus, train, car etc as you have to do it 2 times a day, 4 days a week, very costly!! Especially for students who might have student accommodation near the main campus at mile lane and we are located in a different building, it might be a struggle to walk to transport it is again. I have no other issues with the university, it’s just 4 days a week doesn’t make it easier like they have said it is to get work. As after my second year I will have to leave my place of employment within a nursery which is relevant to my course and helps, as I will need to find different hours
