Good University depending on what campus you attend. Ayr has a new state of the art campus all relevant to the courses available, Paisley is the biggest campus with comfortable class rooms/ lecture theatres and Hamilton (Unless situated in Card) is either too warm where students have been known to faint or freezing cold where lecturers keep there outdoor jackets on. In terms of support there is loads however if you are not fortunate enough to be on the Paisley Campus expect a longer waiting time.

As a widening access University it has to provide more support than expected at other universities, the support is there but if you are not situated on the Paisley Campus expect to wait longer for it. The staff in student link are all excellent and do what they can although the reception staff in Hamilton could use more training in regards to privacy.

Ayr - new union built within the university campus, perhaps a way of controlling the students association that is supposed to be a autonomous body, focuses on rock music instead of providing a range of events suited for the majority of the students. Food is good, great variety and healthy options. Price is ok. Hamilton - used to host unique events now its the same thing regurgitated every couple months (Yawn...) food is fried or resembles primary school dinners eg fish fingers, chips and beans. Prices are ridiculous unless its due to go out of date or its the last week before closing for summer. It has superhero wallpaper that makes it resemble a teenage boys bedroom, which is cool if you like that sort of thing general view is they don't. Paisley - like a concrete prison that is the biggest of all the others, drinks promotions are good and varied. Music and theme nights are mixed so something for everyone.

Improved a great deal over the past two years, if there isn't one for you then its straight forward to set one up. Membership tier system is a joke! paying money to be a non competing player and money every training session, the training sessions raerly include training more like a play about.

Recent changes to the Business school is ridiculous as they now incorporate events management!?!?!

The course content, lecturers, online services, support services and student engagement are all of a very good standard. However, I would say that the building and general facilities could do with an upgrade (I study at the Hamilton Campus), the general atmosphere in the building feels very dated and 'unloved'.

The campus has plenty of facilities (on campus library, computer rooms, lecture halls, meeting rooms, etc.) which are easy to access and enough for all students. However they could do with an upgrade, the computer operating systems are out of date and the overall decor of the campus is outdated and tatty.

Overall student support is excellent - you can access support via email, phone call or in person. The website also has lots of support information to assist students. What really makes a difference is the recruitment of our 'School Enhancement Developer' who is the direct point of contact for any questions we have related to course administration eg access to online course services.

The student Union has a really good balance between 'nights out' and community action work. The union bar is of a decent size, has a wide selection of drinks and activities/events on. Comparatively the Student Union is always encouraging participation in wider community work from its students and celebrates the work of students through their SAUWS Awards.

Only 20mins from Glasgow city centre which is filled with shops, clubs and things to do. Failing that only 5 mins away from town centre.

UWS has plenty of sport groups and societies along with STAR groups (Students Taking Action and Representing) which are set up with the principle of providing peer support for those who may feel under-represented.

Our course is very new which means there are of course teething problems this early on. There are sometimes problems with accessing up to date course content and information online but these are problems in relation to the course administration. The course content itself is extremely relevant to what I expected to study and what I want to do in the future. The lecturers themselves are also very knowledgeable and all come from practice backgrounds bringing their own work experiences to the table.

I am completing a blended learning course which means a portion of my degree is dependent on the completion of placement work. This is excellent as it allows me to exercise theory I am learning on my course in active environments as well as gaining work experiences and references for future job prospects.
