A really lovely atmosphere. Felt right at home as soon as I arrived. Perfect for those not wanting to be right in the city centre but still around hustle and bustle.

Can be relatively confusing however the support is always great.

Very clean and spacious. All the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. However fire alarms can be a bit of a nightmare. But you do get use to it!!

I love studying at Leeds Beckett, my classes are all based on Headingley campus and it's just such a beautiful university. I'm in my second year and have accessed student support often (pastoral team, wellbeing team, disability, careers team, etc.) and every single time they've been so wonderfully helpful. I think the support we get is my favourite part about LBU - it's such an important part of a student's experience and it can really mean the difference between success and failure. The only criticism I would have is that the well-being team isn't as easy to access as you may hope - what with it being such an in demand service, it's difficult to get appointments, though that isn't their fault, I imagine with the influx of people struggling with their mental health during COVID they were far more in demand than they've probably ever been before. Aside from that, I have no criticism. My lecturers are brilliant and very engaging, I genuinely enjoy attending my seminars. The content and modules on my course are interesting and includes very useful material I know I will go on to use when I graduate. Headingley is also such a fun student area with a great vibe and atmosphere, so it's ideal for the student experience without actually being in the city centre.

My course has been on campus for the most part. During COVID our lectures were online, but our course is gradually removing lectures anyway and just focusing on seminars. My lecturers have been amazing, they're so helpful and obviously really want us to succeed and do well, you can tell they care about us and our futures. There's a lot of independent studying on our course which I actually enjoy, it's nice that we get to schedule our work around what best suits us, especially considering the way a couple of us students prefer to work late at night as it's when we feel most productive, so those independent hours are ideal for that. I'm not a massive fan of how most of our content is assessed though, it's mostly essay based and it just doesn't feel like the most accurate or appropriate way to determine who's learning and who's not - so we're more so graded on who can write a better paper which is disheartening at times.
