Bath is a beautiful place to live, and the University campus itself is also lovely. Students are really friendly, as are staff. One struggle is the living situations - in first year I was on campus in Westwood and had no social space which made the year quite lonely. In second year, although i've now found my friends, being off campus in oldfield and trying to get buses up to campus can be a real issue, sometimes waiting an hour in the bus queue.

Some lecturers could do better with the teaching: often key pieces of information are skipped or assumed to be known - both in terms of actual content but then also regarding how exams are structured etc. I have found especially in first year there was much that could be improved here. Furthermore, for economics specifically, the lack of interaction in even seminars makes their usefulness lack - discussion is the obvious purpose of seminars, but instead they are like worse versions of lectures. Bath is a wonderful university to attend, and the course is challenging in a positive way - it is just that some of the challenge comes from mishaps in the teaching rather than from the pure difficulty of the content. I will say, now I am in my second year, I am finding the content much more interesting.

Bath is absolutely gorgeous, I feel very happy in the city, and mostly safe

There was no social space, making it incredibly lonely. The quality was worse than norwood and yet it cost more. The bedrooms were nice, but it always ran too cold (16 degrees celcius, id come home to damp pillows in the winter), and due to there being 21 of us it was understandably quite dirty most of the time and the University would simply send us a letter complaining, which given it would not be most of us making the mess this didn't feel very fair. The shared bathrooms were often without soap or toilet paper, toilets were often out of order, and the showers gross. It would not be reasonable to expect such a large flat to sort this out as they are in effect public toilets. The only thing I liked about it was the wonderful view out onto the golf course.

High quality lectures and support. Great campus location. If you live in the city the commute can be busy with long bus queues.

Lots of early lectures, which is good and bad. But all the lecturers are skilled and professional.

It’s a nice en-suite, with a large kitchen and big communal space. However, the room is small and it’s expensive.
