My experience at Bournemouth University (BU) has been largely positive and rewarding. One of the best aspects of studying at BU is the quality of the learning experience. The university provides a supportive and engaging learning atmosphere that encourages students to grow academically and personally. The facilities are modern, well-equipped, and accessible, which makes studying and research more effective and enjoyable. Another major strength of BU is the expertise of the tutors. The lecturers are knowledgeable, experienced, and approachable. They are always willing to support students, clarify difficult concepts, and provide constructive feedback. This has greatly enhanced my understanding of my course and boosted my confidence in my academic abilities. Overall, the teaching approach at BU promotes critical thinking, practical learning, and real-world application of knowledge. However, despite these positive experiences, one disappointing aspect of being a student at BU is the difficulty in accessing NHS dental care. As a student, not being able to register easily with an NHS dentist is quite frustrating and disappointing, especially considering the importance of healthcare and wellbeing while studying. This challenge can be stressful and adds an extra burden for students who rely on affordable healthcare services. In summary, while BU offers an excellent learning environment with great facilities and expert tutors, the lack of access to NHS dental care as a student remains a significant drawback.

One of the worst aspects of my course of study is the calculation-based component. I find this area particularly challenging because the explanations provided are often not detailed enough. In many cases, we are given lecture slides without thorough, step-by-step explanations, which makes it difficult to fully understand the calculations. Relying mainly on lecture slides can be confusing, as they are sometimes complex and not easy to interpret when studying independently. Without detailed examples or clear breakdowns of the methods used, it becomes harder to grasp the underlying concepts and apply them confidently in assessments. This has made the learning process more stressful and less effective than it could be.
