Northumbria University is lively, is in a great location, with lots of events, and great facilities. The post-graduate experience could be improved with more events specifically for mature students and one designated hub or SU for postgrads to network.

A PhD research course is much more independent compared to undergrad and MA courses. As part of the degree there is less contact time and use of course facilities. The career opportunities could be improved for PhD students with mandatory teaching, internal part time jobs specifically for researchers, and no teaching cuts at the end of it would be nice!
