Abertay is a fantastic University. I am dyslexic and receive so much support in anything I need help with. Everyone is so calm and friendly. I haven't had any bad experiences within the University. I feel a lot more confident in my studies than when I applied.

The classes in-class are great. The lecturers make learning fun and understandable. I live in Perth and so I need to travel back and fourth. I have 2 classes I come in for and they were on a Monday and a Thursday. I explained this to a lecturer and I am now able to do both classes on a Thursday, this also gives me more time to study at home.

The societies and freedom to plan my own schedule around uni is something I really appreciate - there's a lot of free time to explore avenues apart from study that have helped me grow and flourish into my own person, and figure out what I really want from life. The studying though, does feel a little put-to-the-side at times, and In first year I really struggled to get stuck in. Second year I'm faring better, but the sparse lecture schedule could be annoying for those who want to study or don't have many hobbies.

Blended learning isn't ideal (for me at least). The lecturers are lovely but I feel like I don't see them very often, and the content in some of the earlier modules can be really disengaging. The lecturers don't always make use of the online features and it leads to repetitive and boring content that makes going to lectures redundant. I would prefer more in-person events and it seems that 2nd year is improving on some of these issues, but I'm still worried about getting demotivated when trying to study from home.

Waaaaay too expensive. I purposely went for the cheapest room, and it was still far more expensive than any other place (some of which had far better amenities btw). Otherwise, I really enjoyed it there. It was super close to the Uni, the park, and Lidl was just down the road, so it was super convenient. Also, the people I roomed with were fantastic (went on to be housemates in 2nd year) and the way the halls are set up leads to lots of opportunity to get to know your neighbours. It starts to feel like a community and I really appreciate all the little events that went on while we were there.
