Honestly just a good university, nice students and lecturers and lots of opportunities for clubs and society

Course is well taught and organised, with each lecturer being friendly and approachable if help is needed

Apart from the back gate currently broken, the accommodation is nice, the rooms were not outrageously expensive and it is not a far walk from campus

The worst experience was being an international student who didn't know who to turn to when things were hard and was not aware of the resources available such as uni temps, laptop borrowing, so on and so forth. Having difficulty reading scientific work in English and being insecure about my essay writing. Not being able to switch quickly to the way things work in England, and the culture shock that came with it. Last but not least horrible, feeling terribly lonely and not knowing what to do about it as my first year was in the height of covid. The best experience is feeling apart of the university and getting to experience uni life at its fullest when i was finally given to tolls I needed and services to turn to. Participating to so many activities and programmed promoted by the university, developing a good relationship with my PAT and getting help navigating early on the real word made of rejections, job opportunities and so so much hard work by attending GRAD FORCE meetings.

As people who are carrying out a scientific degree, way more hours of practical sessions are needed. After uni, we're getting kicked into the real world and having a good foundation with the right amount of experience is key to qualify for an entry level job.
