Leeds Arts University is a great institution to develop and grow as a creative. My course tutors have helped me to step out of my comfort zone and explore new and unique ways of writing that feel true to me. Spots in the university, like the student union, the classroom and the library are great places to write and study. Though a weakness would be the lack of literary fiction available in the library given its an arts university. Having accessibility to more examples of literary fiction would better help me and other students of my course develop our knowledge to help us to become better writers.

The creative writing course has great tutors who do a great job at combining writing workshops with information on different aspects of writing. I do however wish there were more opportunities to work on bigger projects with other levels or guest writers

Leeds is a great location to study at with lots of social events, great food and music ! Though I do commute into Leeds via the train and the walk to and from the university can be a lot to take in. Unfortunately, homelessness is ripe in the city centre and it can be dangerous at night but so is every city.
