Leeds is a great student city, due to its night life and opportunities. The university allows you to work alongside other creative students and has connections to the other universities in the area. You can use facilities throughout the university, whether they are in your department or not. You also collaborate alongside other courses, letting your course be multimedia. However, the societies could be improved as there are not many to choose from and aren't run very well. I have found the University of Leeds ones work better - which luckily we can also join. I think that there could be more opportunities due to the university's facilities - as an arts uni, there are plenty of extra curricular activities that could be carried such as pottery classes or a darkroom workshop.

The tutors for this course are really connected with each student due to the classes being of a small size. This means you get a lot of one on one time with you tutor, and they always reply to your emails quickly. You are in the class for all lectures, and they are also very understanding, which allows the course to feel relaxed and enjoyable. If I was to change anything it would be the way our days are set out. We are in university only 2 days a week but these are full days. I think I would work better if these days were broken up over the week, so that I was on campus more days, but for less time.

The halls is 15 minutes from the university, which makes it easy and quick to get to and from. They have gated entry and security at night, locks on doors and blocks, so it does feel safe. However they are slightly cut off and more reserved than an accommodation more central - this can sometimes feel like a safety issue. There is a pub on the corner and a petrol station, but nothing else near. This sometimes makes it difficult to do a food shop or head out at night. I do think that it is a good price for accommodation, but there are annoying things that come up repeatedly (broken fridges/showers, parcel collection times, common room shuts by 12, etc.)
