Falmouth university has a lovely atmosphere and location, it’s got a gorgeous campus with lots of facilities and is located close to the beaches, it had some interesting events such as poetry readings and different art events which take place at the on campus galley

The classes have mostly been taught in person but occasionally will be taught online due to teachers affected by illness. A lot of content for the courses are online and need to be accessed and completed through the university site before specific classes, the contact hours with staff are okay as there is the option to book one to one sessions with lectures but these are limited to 15 minutes which I feel is a short period to get feedback

There are a lot of positives to the location of Falmouth university, being based in the gorgeous city a ten minute walk into town, with buses which run every ten minutes. The transport is good, but it could be improved with relation to the university. There use to be a university bus pass scheme in which it would cost students £1.50 for a return from the Penryn halls, and this was scrapped a few years ago and the price since has doubled, causing a lot of students to have to buy a month bus pass ticket or yearly. If I had an improvement for the transport it would be that the university bus pass reduction pass would come back to help students who are struggling with money. There are a lot of events that take place in town, including the Cornish Bank which attracts a lot of musical acts and talent and the Poly which has a lot of exiting events. In the Falmouth and Penryn area there are a lot of yoga studios and surf groups

The accommodation is in a great location- Glasney Village is based on the Penryn campus so ideal for university of Exeter students, and there is a great bus route connection for Falmouth students. Another positive is that there is so much beautiful wildlife on campus, great for those studying natural sciences. There have been a lot of issues with the quality of the flats. Our particular block has had multiple burst water pipes, it has happened so often that rooms have been destroyed causing students to have to move out distrusting studies, almost accidents when hot water pipes burst above a students head and a flooded kitchen, which has caused the floorboards to sink down, requiring a floor replacement which has still not happened with a thin piece for plywood drilled on top for a ‘quick fix’. There have been exploding fan extractors, faulty fridges and even an assault on campus which left students over Christmas feel unsafe.
