I'm studying MA UXD at Falmouth Uni. It's a fantastic university for UXD and creative studies, whether you are experienced or a newbie such as myself. I am changing careers from a sales environment to a design field and was surprised that underpinning the academic and industry skills taught, I was also exposed to and practised critical reflection, collaboration, research, proximal personal development and more. The weekly webinar is always interactive, and lecturers/tutors are industry experts; thus, I feel I benefit from the experience when working on projects. It's great that they are available to me throughout the week, even though I am studying online. The academic literature is mind-blowing, and I often ponder the content for days. The lecture on Computational Creativity is a case in point. It's a great place to overcome any fears about studying creativity. P.S. There is no coding required or taught during the course. However, you are provided access to a number of skill development tutorials if you want to improve any of your talents.

Best Aspects - We are exposed to an in-depth view of creativity within the UX Design environment. The course is project-based. Worst Aspects - I had to learn to let go of some of the content to allow it to distil. I still struggle with it a bit.

Lovely uni in a lovely town. Facilities and teaching are great. The only thing that seems to be an issue is that the upper management is quite poor - there is a lack of communication between different schools and bizarre timetabling decisions, leading to our poor lecturers scrambling to sort things out. Otherwise, this is a fantastic university with some fantastic courses on offer!

Great course with lots of contact hours. Sometimes, the amount of work can feel slightly daunting - however, a continual system of garnering student feedback and iterating on the course structure helps to improve things every year. The course is modelled after a workplace environment to best prepare you, and there are multiple branches of study to give you a wide array of options - though in order to actually get a job in such a specific field as mine, it would be wise to work on your interdisciplinary skills.

Glasney Parc has a great location on campus, being near to the lodge for any maintenance querys and a short distance from campus facilities such as the shop. I had a slightly dire experience last year - my room flooded halfway through the academic year due to a burst pipe in the flat above, and I had to be temporarily relocated. Our gas was continually going out, and the bathrooms have minimal ventilation, so be prepared to purchase some mould spray. Also, if you think you may need a quiet flat, go for it - otherwise, you'll regret it. Overall, you can certainly live there. However, perhaps Glasney View is a more sensible alternative?
