It's an on campus university so every building is within walking distance of each other. There is plenty of career and work experience support provided via the careers office and career adviser.

The modules are relevant to the course and taught via many different ways e.g lectures seminars labs. The professors are willing to help and are useful to our studies

Studying Computer Science at Brunel University offers a mix of advantages and challenges. The course is well-connected to industry, providing strong opportunities for placements, internships, and real-world projects, which enhances employability. Modern facilities and a focus on practical learning, including industry-standard programming and software development skills, equip students with the tools needed for a career in tech. The diverse and supportive community fosters a welcoming environment, and the university’s location near London provides access to career opportunities. However, some students find the large class sizes can limit personal interaction with lecturers, and the heavy workload can sometimes feel overwhelming. While many of the facilities are top-notch, there are occasional reports of outdated labs and resources. Additionally, some students feel that the social scene within the Computer Science department is less vibrant, and the course structure can lack flexibility for those wanting to specialise or explore diverse areas of tech in depth.

The course can be demanding, especially when balancing theoretical concepts with practical assignments. Some students may find the workload heavy at times, particularly when trying to master complex algorithms or work on group projects. The emphasis on independent learning can also feel overwhelming for those who prefer a more structured, guided approach. Furthermore, certain modules may feel abstract or disconnected from real-world applications, making it harder to see their immediate relevance. The best aspect from my course is the lecturers are really good at teaching the materials of this course. The course is updated to real world in certain modules given Artificial intelligence module is added.

The university hall is really good. The rooms are good for what I pay for but the kitchen is not managed at times. Overall, I find it expensive for what I pay for to stay in Fleming.
