It’s been great so far

Bournemouth university is good, there’s plenty of clubs and societies to join, I like how theres student union run areas to help struggling students, like the community kitchen. The careers hub in university is really good to help with CVs and jobs but I have taken a sandwich year and feel like there isn’t a huge support with that, e.g workshops put on my timetable, lecture etc. you kind of have to find your own way to get support, my friend didn’t know about it and has been struggling with getting a placement and sharpening CV. I like how campus feels, there’s usually something going out outside of lecture halls which is nice (my favourite is the pop up bakery). I feel like the part of university I struggle with is kind of strange but I struggle to concentrate in lectures often due to students chatting throughout, i understand that’s difficult to control for the lecture, sometimes they tell them to keep it down but overall it’s a massive problem. I often finding myself avoiding lectures people chat through and just watch the recording.

Overall the course has been 50/50, some subjects are so engaging with interesting content, great teachers and clear resources provided online. Others on the other hand are not very good, some subjects feel like a filler subject, the teacher unclear and not engaging, and the online resources a mess and difficult to navigate.
